Urbane Penthouse Dreams in New Farm
After falling in love with a stunning, recently renovated penthouse, this downsizing family brought BLOK Interior Design on board to bring their urbane apartment dreams to life.
The result: A curated blend of luxurious modern design with a nod to treasured antiques and artwork.
The Project
We had previously worked with this client to style their original family home for its sale campaign last year. Our team and their sales agent worked together to achieve this final sale in a timeframe that exceeded expectations.
With a quick turnaround required to find their next home, they sought the perks of an inner-city lifestyle and fell instantly in love with this stunning, recently renovated penthouse apartment in New Farm.
They brought our design team on board to put together a concept for the furnishing of their new spaces and we quickly set about bringing their new home to life.
The Design
We were given three key instructions for our design brief;
- Make it fabulous
- Incorporate existing artworks and antiques
- Create a feature of a treasured antique plate collection
Our experience with this client meant we knew that they were open-minded. This combined with our keen understanding of their personalities gave us the confidence to present a bold, layered design of warmth and luxury that incorporated and featured their treasured antiques and collection of rare artworks.
The Features
The main living and dining room were to be the focus for adult entertaining, whilst the bar area was to become a haven for their younger family members to retreat too. Creating a flow throughout the apartment was paramount, and working with the existing features, such as the bold wallpapers and striking fabric prints, meant that our team had to find the perfect balance to create harmony.

This client has the most exquisite taste. Working with their treasured antiques and beautiful artworks to present a sophisticated design for this special property was a dream project.
